Registration & Race Day Schedule
Registration
Time: 4:00pm to 8.00pm Friday before the race or 5:30am to 12:00pm on race day.
To register on race day please follow the below schedule:

5:30am - 6:45am to register for the super long course (35km)

5:30am - 8:00am to register for the long course (23km)
-
5:30am - 11:30am to register for the medium course (11km)
-
6:00am - 12:00pm to register for the short course (5km)
Location: Waitomo Homestead (584 State Highway 3, Waitomo 3977)

Pick up your race pack during this time. If you cannot make it on Friday, you can still pick them up on Saturday morning.

Emergency contact: We will check the phone number of your emergency contact at race registration. This must be a contact who can be reached on race day.

Make sure you queue up in the right line (short, medium, long or super-long courses) – there will be signs above the registration desks.

Make sure a volunteer records that you have received your race pack.

You must indicate if you have decided to change your race distance (and pay the difference). If you downgrade in distance a $10 admin fee still applies.

We will have an info desk at the registration venue and will be able to answer any last-minute questions.

There will be a race briefing just before each race starts on Saturday.

23km and 35km runners and walkers - Please bring your clean (i.e. non-muddy) shoes that you plan to wear at race day to registration for Check Clean Dry inspection.
Race Day Schedule

Parking and bus pickup is at the Waitomo Domain for the 5km, 23km and 35km courses.

5km and 35km runners/walkers finish at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre. It is a 10 min. walk from the Visitor Centre back to the carpark on the Domain.

11km and 23km runners/walkers finish on Stubbs Farm. For 23km finishers, a bus will transport you back to the Waitomo Domain, where you have parked.

Race start:
Ruakuri Cave - 10:00am – 1:00pm

Waves of 50 participants every 50 minutes starting at 10:00am
Race finishers:
Ruakuri Cave - 10:30 am – 3:00pm
Transport:
Catch the free shuttle bus from the Waitomo Domain, departing from 9:45 am onwards. Last bus at 12:45 pm. Registered runners and walkers only on the buses.

Race start:
Stubbs Farm - 10:00am – 11:00am

Waves of participants every 10 minutes from 10:00am
Race finishers:
Stubbs Farm - 11:00am - 4:00pm
Transport:
No Bus Pickup. Drive to the start yourself at Stubbs Farm, 970 Te Anga Road, Waitomo Caves 3988, 25 minutes from Waitomo. This course starts and finishes on Stubbs Farm.

Mangapohue Natural Bridge - 8:30am - 10:15am

Waves of participants every 15 minutes from 8:30am
Race finishers:
Stubbs Farm - 12noon - 5:00pm
Transport:
Catch the free shuttle bus from the Waitomo Domain, departing from 7:30am onwards. Last bus is at 9:30am. Registered runners and walkers only on the buses.

Race finishers:
Waitomo Glowworm Caves - 12noon - 5:00pm
Transport:

Prizegiving
Prizegiving will be at approximately 5:00 pm at the Waitomo Homestead on Saturday 18th April 2026. Tuck into a delicious post run meal at Waitomo Homestead.
Come and join us as we celebrate the 2026 event in all its glory. Relax with your friends, enjoy great food and drinks, win fantastic spot prizes and hear how the day went. The address is State Highway 3, 584 Main South Road 3977 Waitomo.
